Tea Ceremony - December 10, 2009

Tea Ceremony - December 10, 2009 Video Clips. Duration : 0.95 Mins.

Chinese music filled the media center on Dec. 10 as Ceramics 1 and Ceramics Advanced students put their porcelain cups and terra cotta tea pots to use in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony to end the semester at Antioch Community High School. All aspects of Chinese tea culture were on display, including the preparation of the tea and the method of expressing gratitude for the tea, which is done by knocking two fingers in the table or saying xie xie (pronounced shay shay). Students prepared a variety of teas to serve, among them oolong, pu-erh, and jasmine. All were brewed in the tradition of the Kung Fu Tea Ceremony.
